As technology continues to advance, selecting new IT platforms, environments, and development tools offers both the promise of new advantages and the potential loss of legacy applications. Organizations have very robust application portfolios that are used to solve daily problems and successfully address customer demands. In fact, most (> 70%) of the corporate data that is relied upon by organizations to conduct their business resides in legacy systems.

Clearly, given that legacy applications are able to address business needs, they are not going away any time soon. Yet, it is not uncommon for the maintenance of legacy applications to consume 75% of IT budgets. Is there a good solution?
